Dr. Moresco's (Denver Zoo) highlight on the non-domestic equid anaesthesia project

"During the exam, which is performed under full anesthesia, blood samples will be drawn from Cody to monitor his health and also to collect important research data. We are collaborating with Denver’s University of Colorado Biochemistry and Anesthesiology Departments (Dr. Angelo D’Alessandro and Dr. Nathan Clendenen) on the development of new methods for monitoring anesthesia in non-domestic equids, to ensure their health and welfare.
